One Relationship Can Change the Course of a Life

Sign Up to Be a Mentor

At Israel Heart2Heart, mentors provide something many IDF veterans and reservists struggling with PTSD are missing after war: consistency, connection, and the feeling that they are not alone.

Healing does not happen in isolation.

It happens through safe human relationships.

As an IH2H Mentor, you become a steady, trusted presence for a soldier rebuilding life after trauma. Sometimes healing begins with something as simple as:

One weekly phone call

One encouraging message

One person who truly shows up

This is not about fixing someone.

It is about walking beside them.

Two people having a supportive conversation

The Impact

Why Mentorship Matters

Trauma does not only affect the soldier. It affects spouses, children, careers, families, and communities.

But research consistently shows that healing outcomes improve dramatically when trauma is met with:

One call.

One message.

One trusted relationship.

One human being reminding another:

“You are not alone.”

More Than Mentorship - It’s Family

“My mentor didn’t just mentor me, he rewired how I think about value, trust, and showing up for people across an ocean.

Before Israel Heart2Heart connected us, my US business was one client and an idea on a slide deck.

But what changed my life wasn’t business advice.

It was having someone in the States who picked up the phone at midnight his time because I was spiraling over a pitch.

That’s not a mentor.

That’s family.

And that’s exactly what IH2H builds - family you didn’t know you were missing.”

- A.Z.

This is the heart of Israel Heart2Heart.

The Relationships That Change Lives

Mentors describe the IH2H experience as a relationship of connection, trust, and lasting impact.

“It is an honor to serve as a mentor with Israel Heart2Heart. The training, support, and sense of community within the organization are unmatched. My mentee in Israel is much more than someone I mentor, he and his family have become people I genuinely love and care about. This experience has been a tremendous gift in my life, and I am deeply grateful to be part of a community that creates such meaningful connections and lasting impact.”

Mentor since 2025

“After sponsoring a family that ultimately lost their husband and father following October 7th, I wanted to do more and applied for the IH2H mentoring program. Although I wasn't sure what a 51-year-old American woman could offer a 25-year-old male IDF reservist, Ory and I formed an immediate connection. Nearly two and a half years later, Ory and his fiancée have become family, even staying in our home in New York during the Jewish holidays last year, and I can honestly say that our relationship has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. While I may be Ory's mentor on paper, he has taught me so much more about balancing military service and civilian life under challenging circumstances, and perhaps more importantly about responsibility, resilience, courage, and humility. I am forever grateful to IH2H for bringing us together.”
