Dr. Yiftach Golov's journey: from the "Avner Platform" for veterans' rights and benefits to the next chapter in rehabilitation and research with Israel Heart2Heart.
The Journey

Dr. Yiftach Golov studies complex systems. As a wounded IDF veteran living with physical injury and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he encountered a different kind of complexity: understanding which rights and benefits he was entitled to and how to claim them.
Those personal challenges inspired the idea for the "Avner Platform". Dr. Golov participates in Israel Heart2Heart's support and mentoring program. Conversations with the program's mentors helped him refine and focus the developing project, while the organization's support helped him navigate obstacles in his journey as a scientist and entrepreneur.
During his visit to Miami, under the auspices of Israel Heart2Heart, he will present the "Avner Platform" and his next initiative: bringing his expertise back to the program and the people it supports.
B.Sc. in Marine Biology (Ruppin Academic Center), M.Sc. in Ecology and Evolution (Tel Aviv University), and a PhD from Tel Aviv University’s Porter School of Environmental Studies — submitted through an academic excellence track based on peer-reviewed publications.
Co-CEO of Certainty Lab and Head of its Scientific Team. Doctoral research on biological flows, conducted in part in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science, published in international scientific journals, and awarded for conference presentations in Israel and abroad.

A deliberate choice. Dr. Golov was awarded a fully funded scholarship for exceptional academic achievement, intended to enable him to continue his research at one of Germany's prestigious Max Planck research institutes. Following the October 7, 2023 attacks, he chose to remain in Israel and direct his efforts and scientific expertise toward supporting wounded and disabled IDF veterans. He went on to advance several initiatives for this community and ultimately led the flagship "Avner Platform" for rights and benefits navigation.
The Flagship Initiative - Launched 10.2026

The "Avner Platform" was developed for and in collaboration with the IDF Disabled Veterans Organization, under Dr. Golov's scientific leadership. It helps wounded veterans of the IDF and Israel's security forces navigate a complex landscape of rights and benefits, where information is scattered across hundreds of regulations, procedures, and updates.
Dr. Golov and his team transformed fragmented professional knowledge into an organized computational foundation that connects official sources with each user's personal profile. A dedicated AI system operates on this foundation, presenting relevant information in clear language through an accessible interface.
Veterans can explore potential entitlements, understand eligibility conditions, consult source references, and identify practical next steps, including benefits they never knew existed. Access is restricted to disabled IDF veterans who are members of the organization, and the platform strengthens the work of the organization's service teams.
Hundreds of raw information sources refined into computational representations that support retrieval based on meaning and context.
A network of concepts and relationships organized into multidisciplinary clusters using more than 10 standardized classification criteria.
Connecting Source Knowledge, Personal Profile, and Precision Matching.
The platform marks a new era in rights accessibility for wounded and disabled IDF veterans.
The "Avner Platform" is already helping many thousands of disabled IDF veterans understand their rights and benefits and take action to claim them. For a community of more than 80,000 wounded and disabled IDF veterans, it marks a new era in rights accessibility and personalized guidance — a personal compass for navigating entitlements and moving forward in rehabilitation and growth.

The Next Chapter
Having completed the development of the "Avner Platform," Dr. Golov now seeks to bring his knowledge and experience to the program that supports him. This initiative aligns with Israel Heart2Heart's broader plans to establish centers in Israel, including its main center in Rishon LeZion, whose establishment is now underway, and its applied research and development arm focused on PTSD.
The Care & Impact Platform is a digital system designed to help the organization measure and evaluate outcomes across the treatments and activities it provides to IDF veterans living with PTSD.
It would bring together information over time and present trends and insights to program staff and researchers, helping them improve the support provided. Its first phase would draw on information from 100–150 IDF veterans already participating in the program. Dr. Golov is developing the underlying algorithm, while Certainty Lab and his team would develop the technological platform.

PTSD and anxiety measures such as PCL and GAD.
Participants’ own experiences and self-reported progress.
Insights from yoga instructors and other program professionals.
Oura rings, wristbands, and smartwatches, where available.
Only a subset of these sources would be used for each participant, depending on their activities, data availability, and consent.
Information would be presented to authorized staff and researchers in anonymous, aggregated dashboards and reports, without identifying details or data about any individual participant. The displays would focus on trends, indicators, insights, and suggested actions to improve the program.
Data collection and management would be based on informed consent, defined access permissions, and responsible handling of sensitive information. Findings would be interpreted in context and used to inform professional judgment, supporting both program improvement and applied research.
For Dr. Golov, this is a continuation of the same personal and professional journey: bringing the knowledge he has gained back to the program that supports him, and contributing to its ability to learn, improve, and extend its impact.
Work with the first participants would lay the foundation for support that can grow and reach many more veterans — with a commitment to helping them strengthen their confidence, find direction, and build a future with hope and meaning.
